UPDATE: The timing of the Monster Hunter Rise demo may actually not be releasing until tomorrow now. While the digital event and webpage for the demo announced the demo would be available today (January 7) the official social media account says tomorrow instead.
It’s unclear if this is due to time zone differences or if there is some sort of confusion on either end.
Original Story: Monster Hunter Rise may be a few months out from release, but players can get their monster slaying on today.
Capcom announced during its Monster Hunter Rise Digital Event a limited-time demo will be available from today until February 1. The demo is free to all players and features single player and local and online co-op. Online play will require a Nintendo Switch Online membership.
All 14 weapon types can be used in the demo and it features four quests. Two of these quests are tutorials and the other two are full hunts. The beginner hunt will see players slay a Great Izuchi, which Capcom says is great for trying out the various weapons and the new wirebug. The intermediate quest sees players challenging to defeat a Mizutsune.
The two hunts can be played for a total of 30 times before all quests in the demo will be unplayable. The data from the demo will not transfer over to the full game, but you will receive a bonus. Those who play the demo will get the following items in the main game: 20 Mega Potions, 5 Pitfall Traps, 10 Energy Drinks, 5 Mega Demondrugs, and 5 Mega Armorskins. If you delete your save from the demo before the game’s release though, you cannot claim the bonus.
Capcom also posted two tutorial videos explaining new features in the game like the Wirebug and Wyvern Riding.
