Nintendo Switch fans looked to be left in the dark for a Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes release. The devs announced today that’s no longer the case.
On the game’s Kickstarter page, developer Rabbit & Bear Studios revealed the upcoming strategy RPG will indeed release on the console alongside previously announced platforms in 2023. The game originally planned to release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
“That’s right! Given recent speculation over the Nintendo Switch and potential next generation Nintendo iterations, we wanted to play it safe and investigate what options we had before fully committing to a Nintendo Switch version.” the post read. “But now the wait is over and we’re delighted to confirm that Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes will also be landing on Nintendo Switch!”
The Kickstarter update also included showing off a new character profile, new pixel art, creator Yoshitaka Murayama’s monthly development report, and a word from the development team.

Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes launched on Kickstarter in 2020 and hit its goal of $3 million in two hours. It went on to hit all of its stretch goals as well, adding a lot of additional content. The page originally stated it would release the title on “Nintendo’s next-generation console” if a new one released before the game did. 505 Games picked up publishing the upcoming RPG and it will launch on Xbox Game Pass.
The game serves as a spiritual successor to the popular Suikoden series. Many developers from the series are working on the game. This includes previously mentioned Murayama (Suikoden 1 & 2) Junko Kawano (Suikoden 1 & 4), and Osamu Komuta (Suikoden Tactics). A prequel, Eiyuden Chroncle: Rising, released on May 10 to mixed reviews. The prequel bucks the strategy element for side-scrolling action. Gamers can also play this on Xbox Game Pass.
There’s no definitive release date yet, but we hope to get word on the release at the Xbox Showcase. That kicks off on Sunday, June 12 at 12 pm CT.
