Those ready to get their car destruction adrenaline fix on November 12 will have to wait a few more months.
PlayStation announced in a blog post that Destruction AllStars, an originally planned PlayStation 5 launch title, will be moved to February 2021. The announcement also added the game would be included as part of PlayStation Plus for two months at no additional cost.
This comes as a shock, but not entirely surprising, move as the PS5 release date is just over two weeks away. The game hadn’t received any new information or trailers since its original announcement outside of a brief glimpse during the PS5 UI reveal.
The originally planned first party launch titles included:
- Astro’s Playroom (Japan Studio) – pre-installed on PS5
- Demon’s Souls (Bluepoint Games / Japan Studio) – US$69.99
- Destruction All Stars (Lucid Games / XDEV) – US$69.99
- Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales (Insomniac Games) – US$49.99
- Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales Ultimate Edition (Insomniac Games) – US$69.99
- Sackboy A Big Adventure (Sumo Digital / XDEV) – US$59.99
Despite the games delay, PlayStation said new details as well as a brand-new trailer will be released next week. This will show gamers exactly what to expect when they can download the game in February. While I’m bummed to hear the news, I’m looking forward to the new information and grabbing the game for free in February.
The blog says Destruction AllStars is a multiplayer game that’s at its best when you’re competing with gamers online from all around the world. Here is details on the game via PlayStation.
“Destruction AllStars is a global sports entertainment event where stars & cars collide. Become one of 16 different AllStars and get behind the wheel to the sound of a roaring crowd as you wreck your way to the top.
Jump into the arena solo or with your teammates and run to your vehicle of choice. There’s a variety of different vehicles with unique speed and handling characteristics. Whilst you might have a particular favorite, it takes a true AllStar to master them all!”
You can snag Destruction AllStars on PS plus on February 2021 and the new Playstation 5 on November 12.
